We headed out to Waimanalo to visit a pumpkin patch.
There were lots of activities, including a petting zoo, a pumpkin cannon, and little milk crate train. But Liam would have none of that. We did get him to wander around and look for a pumpkin.
We also tried the sunflower maze, but, well, that didn't go over nearly as well as we had hoped.
He had a good time at the beginning, but there were ties running along the ground that he kept tripping over and after the third fall, little Liam had had enough. Dad had had enough of the crying.
I'm not certain how Liam calmed himself, but he was sure in an odd mood once the crying passed.
The weather took an ominous turn, so Mikey took Liam to the car. We still had scrip left, so I chanced it to get some lemonade. No such luck. It poured and I was soaked.
But I did get the lemonade!
And yes, Liam did choose his pumpkin. But not from the field. He got it from a little basket in the general store. Such a city boy.
And on Halloween night, we actually went trick or treating for the first time. Liam picked out his own costume and chose to be Woody. As we were walking out of Party City, he looked at me and said, "So happy!" I asked him why and he said it was because he had his Woody costume.
Of course, his Halloween candy is still sitting, untouched, in a bag in the kitchen. Probably for the best.
Judging from the T-shirt, I'd guess that Mikey decided to be a Californian for Halloween.
ReplyDeleteHehee...I swear that's his favorite t-shirt. In fact, that's his second one. His first is so ratty that I've encouraged him to stop wearing it. :)
