One Year of Existence

A year ago today Mikey and I were at the hospital, contemplating the sudden existence of this new person and his membership in our family.

Technically, this was July 3rd...

And today we celebrated 366 days of no sleep, hysterical laughter, tender moments, and sheer delight -- all of the things that make up life with an infant.

First we ate some dinner -- tofu, corn chowder, and rice rusks.

Then we played a bit and read a book...upside down, of course.

Then Dad Dad got the cupcake ready.  We got a coupon for a free cupcake from the Barnes and Noble Cafe for Liam's birthday, so we figured today was as good a day as any.

Erm...what is this?!

Here, do you want it?

Ugh...I think I might be sick from this thing...

Don't want!  Don't...want...!!

Are you sure you don't want the chocolate cupcake?

Oops!  Guess not...

The chocolate cupcake might not have gone over well, but it was all smiles just before bed.
