The Highchair Chronicles

Liam spends a lot of time eating. And his antics are so cute that I find it hard to resist pulling out the camera. Besides, it's often the only time we can get him sitting in one place long enough to actually take a non-blurry picture! And so, an installment of...The Highchair Chronicles!

Bellows

In June, we were lucky enough to be invited, along with Mikey's other coworkers, to a Governor's Office barbeque at Bellows. The water was beautiful, the sand the softest I've ever felt, and more importantly, it was Liam's first trip to the beach! We took video of his first foray into the ocean, but until that shows up, here are a few of the very few photos we actually took.

Liam was none too happy about the hat. Sorry dude, that pale skin means you need to cover up!

He didn't have the best time in the ocean, but he was smiley enough once he was wrapped all cozy in a towel.

We tried to get all of our footprints next to each other, but Liam preferred to just dig his toes in.

Moments in May

A few choice moments from the May that was...

Liam decided that acrobatics on his chair was a good idea. That's when we decided it was the end for this chair.

Flair!

Once Liam was eating solid food more regularly (and once we got tired of sitting on the floor), we decided it was time to purchase a highchair. I'd been perusing reviews for months trying to figure out which one I should get and which one wouldn't take up too much room and kept coming back to the Boon Flair. It was certainly an "investment" piece, but I have to say, well worth the investment! It is seamless, made of molded plastic, which means it takes no time to clean. And, if we ever do end up with a dining room table, it has a pneumatic lift so we can position it to the perfect height!

Liam has an outfit to match every occasion.

And a spoon to match when the shirt doesn't.

Besides, Boon makes every eating time more fun. Sandwich? :)

Happy Birthday Little One!!

One Year of Existence

A year ago today Mikey and I were at the hospital, contemplating the sudden existence of this new person and his membership in our family.

Technically, this was July 3rd...

And today we celebrated 366 days of no sleep, hysterical laughter, tender moments, and sheer delight -- all of the things that make up life with an infant.

First we ate some dinner -- tofu, corn chowder, and rice rusks.

Then we played a bit and read a book...upside down, of course.

Then Dad Dad got the cupcake ready. We got a coupon for a free cupcake from the Barnes and Noble Cafe for Liam's birthday, so we figured today was as good a day as any.
