Session

It's that time of year again!  Mama works seventy-hour weeks and Dad picks up the domestic slack.  (Thanks, Dad!)  But Liam comes to visit nearly every day.

Liam read the back of the cheese packet from our pizza dinner while hanging with Uncle Jamie.

He showed Aunty Suze his owl.  Aunty Suze said that Liam's visit is the highlight of her (usually very long) workday.  Aww, thanks Aunty!

Aunty Doreen played on her iphone with Liam, who's always interested when gadgets are involved.

Liam hung out with Mama on Valentine's Day.

But in the end, all he wanted to do was get back to work.  Yes?  What is it?

Family Photo Shoot 2012

So it would seem that we're making a habit of taking family photos in November.  In 2012, unbeknownst to us, Liam was running a fever when went to take the photos at Moanalua Gardens.  We just thought he was being his normal, uncooperative self in front of the camera.  Thus far, we've had pretty bad luck when it comes to these photos, so it is a testament to the photographer we've chosen that we've always managed to get some good photos.  But we always get all of the digitals so we save forever the other-than-smiling moments.

Liam loves his animals, so here he is with, from left to right, Cordy Blue, Ugly Doll, and Roy Gator.

We had some moments when we provided reassurance.

And we learned, again, that Liam is not a fan of grass between his toes.

Uhhh...what are you doing?!

But I don't want to stand on these rocks!

Mmm...tasty Ugly tentacles.  Dad likes them too.

Don't leave me here in this yucky grass stuff!

Mmm...drool...

It would be a cool guy shot if you didn't look so miserable, buddy.

But there were some smiles in there!  Way to make it work, Liam!

Howdy, City Boy!!

Aunty Lani's granddaughter invited us to her son Ridge's baby luau at Gunstock Ranch in Laie.  Wow, Laie is quite the drive from Town!  But the party was so much fun, the drive was completely worth it.  And we had a good time!  Well, I THINK city boy Liam had a good time...

It was a beautiful day at the Ranch.

We tried the petting zoo first, but Liam was unimpressed.

Then Dad helped him ride the big horse...

...but he wanted to be as far away from the beast's head as possible.  What IS this thing?!

The petting zoo again?  He's so not getting his hand soiled.  They were just manicured, after all...

Even the saddle swing was met with consternation.

The stationary saddle, now.  That had some potential.

And of course, walking on grass is nice.  So long as we have shoes on and the grass is not between our toes.

Posing for pictures with Aunty Jesse, Aunty Missy, and birthday boy Ridge is also acceptable.

We looked through the cool goody bag in the car on the way home...

...and then urban cowboy Liam succumbed to sleep.

The whole outdoors and roughing it can really take it out of you!  Liam must have been dreaming of his nice, dirt- and animal-free condo in the city.

Dishwasher

The other day, Liam was sick and it was hot (darn Kona winds!) so he was just wearing a diaper around the house. To keep him entertained, we introduced him to the dishwasher:

Magic Island

There's something about Magic Island.  Perhaps it's the fairly easy parking in a city that is notorious for its lack of.  Perhaps it's the calm water, like a giant warm swimming pool that gently rocks you to serenity.  Perhaps I just like the name.  Whatever it is, I enjoy going there and we haven't gone nearly enough lately.  But this past weekend, while I ate ramen at Goma Tei in peace (since Mikey took the antsy toddler to work out the excess energy, I saw a Facebook post from Cousin Aaron about a same day barbecue invitation to Magic Island.  I texted to see if they were still there and since they were, and we were right across the street, we decided to stop by.  Ah, the wonders of modern technology.

We had already eaten, so we just visited and I might have had a coco puff...

But as I was saying, we visited...

And fun was had by all.  Thanks Domingos for being so social and letting us join you!

Random Moments at Home

The dryer door provides endless hours of amusement.  He just needs us to facilitate.

A delightful afternoon in bed with the Economist for some light reading.

Practicing standing...and the piano.

Cheerio Man!

Who needs toys when you've got bottles?!

I've got my box.  Now open the door.

I know this thing comes off somehow...

Bubbles before bed!

Nekkid!!
