Want Wive

One day, much earlier this year, Liam had a taste of the driver's seat in the car.  I'm not sure whether it's the novelty or signs of a blossoming formula one driver, but now, almost every time we get in the car we hear, "I want wive."

At first, he just sat on Daddad's lap.

But then he went to the Children's Discovery Center and got a feel for driving on his own.

And of course he had to try out driving his favorite thing -- TheBus.  "Exact change, please."

How can we resist this little driver's excitement?  "Are you ready, Liam?"  "Go!"

All Bus' Up

The day started out bright and sunny with promise...

Liam lounged in his favorite red chair and we thought about how we would spend the day.

We were going to go to the beach, but alas, no parking.  So we opted for a tiny botanical garden instead.  All was fine until...

Mama decided that Liam had enough hand holding and so I let him go on his own to show Daddad the snail shell we had found.  But...well...those little feet tripped him up and in his effort to save the shell, his nose took the brunt of the damage.  And this was after semi-black eye he got when he was apparently part of a mini stampede and ran into something (I'm not sure what) face first.

By then, we had already eaten lunch and it was late afternoon, so we decided to try the beach again.  We found parking!  So we lathered on the sunscreen and since, for some reason, I have no real beach clothes, Daddad and Liam headed to the water for Liam's first trip to the beach where he was a full participant.

Sorry you were so bus' up, dude!  (But he had a really good time anyway!  Even ventured a little ways offshore into water that came up to his neck when he was sitting down.)  My brave boy.

Techno-Toddler

When Liam was first born, we were adamant about not giving him screen time.  We curbed our screen time to facilitate this.  Now that he has officially become "The Toddler," with all of the ensuing chaos, I have to admit, screen time (in small doses) is our friend.  Of course, he really only watches toddler-type music videos, Shawn the Train, and the occasional Pocoyo, but he does have his own tablet (thank you Papa!) and is well versed in how to use both it and the iPad.  Oh, and our phones.

Cheese!

For some reason, when Liam sees a tree or a light post, he runs up to it, leans against it, and says, "cheese!"  We've taken a couple of pictures of this...
